The First Dream & The Misty Forest
In the dead of night, when resting within the golden heart of Bahamut, the party found their minds drifting to a realm far away…
The First Dream
The party found themselves as strangers in a strange land, surrounding them was a vast landscape of volcanic ash stretching far into an encompassing mountain range. The landscape scarred by obsidian crags that broke off from a towering obsidian volcano that sits at the valley’s centre.
Here, they encountered a familiar yet mangled face… Jean Paul or some twisted version of him changed by some terrible curse. Although they know not yet what afflicts this accursed man, they know him to refer to himself as Jean Ball in his newfound madness.
Together, they elected to head north towards the opening in the mountain range.
The Forest of Mist
As they travelled through the landscape of ash and bone, they would eventually find their standing before a large obsidian pillar that had been toppled over by some unknown event. The party each found their own ways over, Lyra used her newly gifted wings to fly over the stone, Jean Ball levitated up the cliff to pass over, while 3:36 and Novus passed through a small fungi filled tunnel beneath the old stone.
Upon reaching the other side they saw before them a forest cloaked in a layer of heavy mist, a soft light floating enticingly within. Seeing the obvious trap for what it is, the party with the aid of Novus’s Magic Stone spell destroyed the light. When they did this however, some large creature rushed through the forest unseen in the foggy forest.
With no other choice, the party decided to head through the forest. With the aid of 3:36 creating a ward against the fog to allow them a degree of safe travel through the mists. They traveled for a time with the aid of Lyra flying above to navigate before encountering a large ravine that blocked their path. Jean Ball strayed from the ward for but a moment while attempting a solution and was dragged off off swiftly by an unseen horror… To make matters worse? he was tied to Lyra! who was almost dragged herself through the forest, they barely managed to escape thanks to a Hellish Rebuke by Jean Ball.
They did continue for a time, being joined by Evellon but we halted by Lyras voice calling out from within the fog, trying to pull the party deeper into the depths… They managed to see through this ruse, and after some investigation found themselves in battle with a Flower Dryad.
After a hard fought battle, they finally escaped the forest… seeing the lights of civilization on the horizon.
