Background
Below the surface, rigid, spartan and endless warfare. For centuries, he simply fought for the belief that it would allow his creators, the First Civilization, to rise to the surface and prosper, while he and his comrades held the line. He was known only as Warforged, as were his comrades, lacking individuality. Due to a loss of supplies, it was decided that the Warforged must ascend to the surface and contact their creators. Upon rising to the surface he found himself cut off and alone from his allies, emerging into an ongoing skirmish between two human factions. His sudden appearance caused a brief stalemate, as he bargained for resources. One commander offered a bounty of Casterite Crystals should he aid them. He agreed.
Taking pause however, he was conflicted by this position. For thousands of years, he and his comrades fought to allow their creators on the surface to achieve greatness. And yet this was not to be. War over land and resource ran rampant, lords bickered and could have chosen peace, but still the battle progressed. And among it all he had only served as a tool to execute the battle for payment, much like the soldiers who cheered and looted their enemies for gold. In that moment, Nomad lost his identity as Warforged, lost faith in his mission, and abandoned his duty. The crystals would have served useful to an army for a day or two at most, but alone he thrived for weeks walking the surface of the world and learning their customs.
Personality
Nomad is driven by purpose. His old life’s purpose was to preserve the ability for organics to rise to the surface and thrive away from the monsters of the depth. However, upon rising to the surface and finding they had forgone that offering to continue spreading their own wars, he has rejected this original purpose. Provided he is fighting for his newfound purpose of preventing unnecessary conflicts, Nomad is willing to die for those he cares for. If he must choose, he is often quick to determine who lives and dies to mitigate further death, but grieves his involvement for much longer.
Outside of combat, Nomad is cautious of strangers but quick to impress. He is fond of offering second chances, and does not often take sides into consideration, willing to aid the individuals belonging to the "enemy" of the land in whatever way he can.
Abilities
As a Warforged, Nomad's integrated plating grants him bolstered armor, and his body is largely immune to the frailties of flesh. He resists poison, cannot contract disease, and needs neither food, drink, nor air. Magic cannot force him to sleep.
Fighting unarmoured and unarmed, Nomad uses his dexterity and awareness to dodge attacks effortlessly. He moves faster than normal thanks to his training, can catch or deflect incoming missiles, and can attune his strikes to directly affect his targets with a fundamental understanding of the force behind his strikes.
As a Warrior of Mercy, Nomad trained as a physician as much as a fighter. His Hand of Healing lets him restore the vitality of others, while his Hand of Harm is its mirror: infecting and draining targets of their life force. Recent training has allowed him to better utilize these abilities, cleansing harmful effects with his healing and inflicting a poison with his harm.
Relationships
Within the Nightmare, Nomad has grown to be a member of the party.
In his travels to Faerun, Nomad has joined the party. His focus is largely on bringing an end to the conflict, although his true motives and reason for entering Faerun are unknown.
He is a close friend to 3:36, often sharing theories of existence with the fellow construct.
