The Heart of Gold is the primary D&D campaign in the Elysium server. It consists of two subcampaigns, Prime and Sigil, with varying timeslots. The DM of the campaign is Seddik.

Introduction

After the Death of Bahamut during the Introduction arc of the Heart of Gold campaign, the party members were sent into the Heart of Gold which became their home. After several weeks within the Heart, the party emerged to find the Sword Coast thrown into a large-scale conflict, the sky stricken crimson by the destruction of the sun, and the balance of Toril at stake.

Characters

Events

  • Bahamut, God of Metallic Dragons, was slain by the Goddess Shar. A massive worm called the Sun-Eater emerged from the god's corpse and flew to 'Consume the Sun', as Shar claimed. This event was named The Death of Bahamut and caused an all-out war to break out in the Sword Coast between the Sharran Neverwinter and the Selûnite Waterdeep.
  • The party was split into two groups, a group to counter the Sharran thread in the Prime Material Plane which was called 'Prime Party' and a group to seek out Ur in Sigil. The latter was called the 'Sigil Party'.

Prime Party

  • The party made their way to Waterdeep, home to the Selûnite resistance, to offer their assistance and exchange information. The journey took them to Phandalin where a hostile stand-off with a group of Sharrans that were threatening peasants worshipping Tymora. This stand-off ended with the Sharrans defeated and Evellon and Abraxus being hit with a fireball. Despite the party's heroic act, Sister Garaele, the town priestess, was not happy, saying that they doomed the town by obstructing the Sharrans.
  • To reach Waterdeep, the party made their way across Leilon, a scorched village that was caught in the cross-fire, where they found the lost traumatized child Lyra Jr. The party, despite Evellon's objections, agreed to take the child to Waterdeep away from the battlefield.
  • On their way to Waterdeep, the party had to go though the Mere of Death Men, an undead-infested swamp. The party learned from an injured squad of Selûnites that the undead are raised by a lich. And that the undead seems to be targeting Selûnites more than they are targeting Sharrans.
  • Upon reaching waterdeep, the party had to go through a checkpoint where Selûnites tried to detect any aberrant presence within them. This was to see if the party was infected with the Rot (plague) plague. An aberrant plague that turns people to aberration. Because of this, the entire city of Waterdeep was in lock down.
  • The party tried to get to The House of The Moon but was denied entry and were told to go to The House of Essence, a government institution which oversees temples and arcane establishments. This was when the party met Graven, the house's manager, who joined the party to study their Heart_of_Gold_(Bastion).
  • On their way to the Selunite Temple, the party found Tellarion, a dragon trainer from Valanthis. Meanwhile, a flock of dragons, coming from the western coast, flew over the city and joined an Ancient Golden Dragon that had just emerged from a portal. The flock then attacked The House of The Moon with the Golden Dragon claiming that Shar has killed his God, Bahamut. This accusation was due to the draconic energy of the Hear of Gold which happened to be in the Temples Proximity. Graven quickly explained that Shar was the one that killed Bahamut. The Golden Dragon introduced himself as 'Solraus The Dragon of Truth'. And revealed that any lie said in his presence causes its speaker to petrify instantly. As such, he knows for a fact Graven is telling the Truth. Solarus thanked the party, and flew out of the city heading to Neverwinter to attack the Sharrans.
  • On their way out of the temple, they met Rach, a young copper dragon that sought to bring The Heart of Gold to Solarus to earn his favor not knowing that the party already allied themselves with the Ancient Dragon. Tellarion quickly diffused the situation by saying that he knows Telaria a fiend of Rach.

Sigil Party

  • 3:36, Verra and Kierath ventured to the Blood Hunters HQ, seeking passage to Sigil (City). This was achieved with their help, traveling through a portal within a Gauth. Kierath chose to remain in Faerun, rejoining the Prime party.
  • On reaching Sigil, 3:36 and Verra joined up with three strangers, Mishka, Thoma and Jedah, exploring the city. They sought information on Ur within the Hall of Information, a hall where newcomers to sigil gather. They leanred that Ur is the leader of the Athar, a faction of sigil, and took a couple of contracts which led them to cause chaos in a bars basement hosting pit fights between various beasts. During this encounter Thoma met his silver pet dragon .
  • After exiting the pit fights basement, the party met with Cordelia and Tariana. Tariana offered to help the party find Ur, leading them into a dead-end alleyway. This turned out to be an ambush, causing the party to be captured by the Athar. These anti-worshippers demanded that the party prove their worth and disregard to the Divines by desecrating the Temple of Selûne & Shar.
  • After much argument, the party agreed, carrying out their damage to the temples statues. On returning to the Athar, the party met with Ur, disembodied, who revealed his identity to them as the embodiment of entropy, the foster father of Bahamut, and explained their role in the cosmological order. He tasked the party with a divinely impossible task, slaying Tiamat as Shar did to Bahamut. However, they were interrupted by the arrival of a demonic army, led by Ness-ooos.
